Faith Minute

Please Note! We are on a "Trip Across America."

We will be gone for a few weeks. Sadly, because of the driving involved, I will not be adding to Faith Minute while we are on the road. But, I may be able to come up with some interesting ideas while we are traveling around.

I do plan on posting something most every day. I have a map of America I copied. I will plot our route each evening when we stop and post that, this way you can follow along with us. I will also post the "most interesting photo of the day" below the map. I will outline where we are staying each night (I hope) and give some details of what we passed or what we saw.

This is pretty ambitious for me simply because of this cancer I have. I have to come to terms that I cannot do all of the driving and will have to let Gail do some of it. ooohhh, That scares me. But, I'll get over it (again, I hope...)

Where is your Faith? Do you keep it in your pocket, or do you wear it proudly?

Not to long ago I had reason to question my Faith. I got to wondering if I really had my full Faith in God or did I somehow question God and all that He is. I did some study and some deep searching of my heart and soul. I did come to the conclusion that, yes, my Faith is still intact.

The reason I had to question my Faith is that two of my friends are about to embark on a life filled with missions. I had thought their choices of where they were heading were full of fraught and perils. These places are known to be Anti-Christian. I called on God every day, several times a day, to please look out for and protect these two wonderful people.

As I was talking to my friend, mentor and doctor, I realized that I may be having a lack of Faith simply because my friends were all I could talk to God about. It startled me to think I was constantly asking God to protect them and I came to the realization that I was doing this because, somewhere, in my heart, I had no Faith in God.

I had to keep on and on about it. I was consumed with it. I was relentless about it.

Needless to say, I came to the conclusion my Faith was intact and there was no reason to panic. I just had a bit of OCD with God about these two people who mean so much to me.

But, during all my studying about Faith I got to wondering what it is about that one little word, Faith.

How do we as Christians take that word? What does it mean to us? What do we do with it?

I am going out on a limb here and try and try to see what this one little word, Faith, means to us.

Do you see the title of this site? "Faith Minute." That's what I am going to try to do, in a series of one minute blocks, talk about Faith. And, I will be doing this with video.

I am going to post these one minute blocks on YouTube. That place has to be good for something other than people posting fights and stupid stunts. Therefore, I will use them for my Faith Minute videos. Obviously, there will be some things that I want to say that will go over a minute, so if I go over by a few seconds then that will be more than a minute, but still a "Faith Minute." Also, some subjects concerning our Faith may need a couple of chapters.

Essentially, I will be pulling verses from the bible, looking through the various materials I have, study them, write it up and put it on video. Every time I post a new minute, I will also post the link on YouTube here, in the "Video" section on this page. I think, that for clarity and to make it easy on you, I will just number these videos instead of coming up with a new title for each minute. That way, you can read it in some orderly fashion.

Eventually in the not too distant future I will have a forum for you to discuss what I have to say. You may disagree with me. You may have your own opinion you need to say. And, if you have the capabilities to video yourself with a "Faith Minute," then I will see about posting your "number" on this site.
